Located three miles west of Woodfords, California off Hwy 88, Kit Carson Campground has 9 campsites and 1 site specifically for day use. Nestled in the Aspens, this little campground is perfect for tent camping and smaller RVs.  Bear boxes, tables and fire rings in each of the campsites.

The west fork of the Carson River is located next to the campground, with several sites right next to the water. Great fishing and views! Kit Carson is exceptionally beautiful in the fall.

Kit Carson is minutes from Blue Lakes, Lake Tahoe, the Carson Valley, Grover Hot Springs and Turtle Rock, the start of the annual Death Ride in Markleeville, California.

2015 Dates:

5/15 (first come, first serve) 5/22 thru 9/7 (reservations accepted) 9/8 thru 9/20 (first come/ first serve)

2015 fees:

$18 per night per site ($9 per night with senior or access pass)*

$6 per extra vehicle, per night
$6 Day Use (10 a.m. - 2 p.m. for campsites - hours do not apply to Day Use site 4)

Firewood available for $7 per bundle or $18 for 3 bundles  from the onsite camp host.

Pets welcome on leash

*Golden Age or America the Beautiful Senior and Access Passes - one site per pass
