Excellent camping location for Death Ride participants!
Located one mile west of Woodfords, California on Hwy 88, Crystal Springs Campground has 18 campsites, many of them are RV accessible. The west fork of the Carson River is directly across the street and offers excellent fishing opportunities from spring through fall.
These sites are all first come, first serve. The 2011 schedule for this campground is April 29th through Labor Day weekend. Campground opening and closure is dependent upon weather.
This campground is paved and has water, new vault toilets, new fire pits, and some BBQs. There are camp hosts on site and fire wood bundles are available for sale.
Crystal Springs is a great base camp for those who like to explore. It’s just minutes from Lake Tahoe, the Carson Valley, Grover Hot Springs and Turtle Rock, the start of the annual Death Ride in Markleeville, California. Excellent rock and mountain climbing are within walking distance of the campground.
2011 Camp fees:
$16 per night per site ($8 with senior pass*)
$7 per extra vehicle, per night
$6 day use
Firewood available at $6 per bundle
Pets welcome on leash
*One site per Golden Age or America the Beautiful Senior Pass
