Reservations are now being accepted at www.recreation.gov for the months of August and early September 2011. The expected opening date is identified as July but reservations will not be accepted until the August timeframe to ensure that the park is ready prior to the first reservation.
New map is online at www.recreation.gov - single and double sites. Check it out and keep checking back here for the opening date - I will post as soon as I have it!

Hope Valley is still under reconstruction. It is expected to be completed by August 2011 (we hope!). If you need a site with reservations, check out Silver Creek - Hwy 4 - it's awesome! Please check back here for opening dates or http://www.recreation.gov/ .
Located eight miles west of Woodfords, California off Hwy 88, on Blue Lakes Road, Hope Valley Campground has 19 sites, several are RV accessible:
The west fork of the Carson River is directly across the street and a great spot for the kids. The river is stocked right here nearly every week in the summer and the fishing is great!
This campground will have reservable and first come, first serve campsites when it reopens. Hope Valley has always been a terrific destination and this reconstruction project will take it from terrific to FABULOUS! In addition to all new tables, fire pits, work tables, etc., the campground is being completely renovated with new, wide roads; double sites and easy access for RVs and trailers. It will still be a great place for tent campers with tent pads in every site.
Hope Valley is minutes from Blue Lakes, Lake Tahoe, the Carson Valley, Grover Hot Springs and Turtle Rock, the start of the annual Death Ride in Markleeville, California.
